Clear, Crisp, Cold

There is a lot to love about winter. One benefit that has been on my mind lately has been the growing amount of light each day. The classic awareness of plenty understood through experience of scarcity. Even the half hour or so more light we get now as compared to Christmas time is so wonderful.

The chickens have noticed and are appreciative as well, the eggs are flowing. We are up to about 50 a day. Our initial worries were that the eggs would lack for customers here inthe depths of winter. However they have been trafficking smoothly out of our local corner store as well as the big natural food palace in Brunswick. The margin is tight but we are sure grateful for those places stoking our eggs. Had THREE requests for our eggs at the store the other day after stock had run out. That's what I call progress.
